EVtagset

The EVtagset is the Event-Tagset: a bundle of keywords defining the date and location of your event. The special topic of your event is specified by secondary tags.
The benefit for smaller event organizers (like small jazz clubs, galleries, museums):

  • If you are an event organiser – and you are tired of submitting your events to several event calendars you can make your events searchable for any eventcrawler with these tags.

The benefit for travellers

  • People who love to travel (or must travel due to their jobs) will find events in cities all around the world – even if they do not speak the language of this country – if eventmanagers use the EVtagset on their websites: they enable the specified search for events on a single day – with any search engine like Google, Bing or Yaho (…).
  • These users will be able to broaden or specify their searches regarding time and location: A query searching for a single day will be possible as well as a query for one whole month or one year. Regarding the location queries for one city or for whole countries will be possible
  • thirdly new ways of subscribing to events will be possible, like Google Alerts (enabling to get an email whenever you preferred kind of event in your preferred city appears on the web).

The benefit for eventcrawlers / event-websites

  • With the use of the EVtagset all kinds of event-crawlers will be customizable: An Event Calendar in Russian language for Austria, eventcrawlers in English language for Events in China, a German event calendar for events in Israel.
  • Web 2.0 technologies like RSS feed integration will enable the export oft current local events to different other local websites.

SYNTAX

This tagset consists of the Day, Month and Year tags (dd mm yyyy) followed by the Main Tag EVtagset, the Country Tag and Region Tag and the Secondary Tag to specify the kind of event you are promoting – followed by any other keywords that you find suitable to define your event.

dd mm yyyy evtagset <country tag> <region tag> <secondary tag> <keyword1 keyword2 ….>

EXAMPLE

To announce a bossa nova concert in rio de janeiro on 12th of may 2010 you simply put the following sequence of tags (keywords) on your website:

  • 12 05 2010 EVtagset br rio MUStagset bossa nova
